I really do not understand why people I have never heard of, and am never likely to want to be connected to, ask to be connected. Linkedin is supposed to be for professionals, not as an alternative to Facebook. Please, please, do not ask to connect unless there really is a connection. I have a professional reputation and wish to maintain it, even if it does nothing to increase my connection count!
